Help Me Plan Food to Match this Champagne

I need your help! I won a gift basket today and in it was this lovely bottle of Dom Perignon Vintage 2002. I want to enjoy it with good food. In my opinion, I can enjoy champagne with all food but the value of this bottle is way over my usual spending.

Please comment with suggestions for appetizers, amuse bouche, canapes or desserts.

  1. Congratulations Sarah. It seems to me there need to be truffles and caviar somewhere in the menu.

  3. The only time I have had Dom was New Year's Eve in Mexico because a rich girlfriend ordered a bottle for us. It was so delicious that I ordered another!

  4. That sounds like such a fun challenge - planning the menu around your champagne. Seeing as it's French then I would have something elegant for dinner. How about an unusual salad - say beets and oranges or something else really colourful and different. For the entree how about lobster or if that is too expensive then how about seafood pasta. And finally for dessert how about a chocolate mousse with a rasberry puree on top. Of course, half the fun will be in the presentation. I'm looking forward to what you come up with.

  6. Congrats on winning such a great basket!!! I have no clue what to serve with champagne like that! I am more of a $4.00 bottle of wine girl myself.

  7. During my days working at the Flames, I bought my first house and on moving day Norm Green who was one of the Flames' owners at the time sent over a bottle of Dom along with his assistant to help unpack. I was "gobsmacked".
